Kettlebells are prescribed for this workout but are very difficult and uncomfortable if you’re inexperienced holding them against the back of your arm. Substitute dumbbells instead and you will get just as good of a workout. The Kettlebell thruster is one of those “Unknown” elements and today we’re using the movement to prepare our athletes who want to compete in CrossFit competitions (they’re always looking to find a weakness or something you haven’t trained). If you’re working out for general fitness use dumbbells and avoid the misery that is kettlebell thrusters.
