Everyone at the Louisiana Sports Fest

WOD 5/23/11

Thruster 5-5-3-3-3

AMRAP in 12 minutes:

10 Dumbbell Thrusters (45/30)

200m Run

Congrats to everyone for surviving the apocalypse! And a big congrats to all of the competitors from CFB and CFMC who competed this weekend at the Louisiana Sports Fest. We had a lot of people set some PR’s in the 5k run, 2k, row, and deadlift. If you would like to compete later this summer CrossFit Katy is hosting their “Bring The Heat” summer challenge in July. There will be scaled and standard divisions for both men and women. Sign-Ups start next month.

Yes, Kara did a great job…as usual!
Rachel, we’re going to get a 2×4 to help you with that “mental block!” Good job “keeping on!”
I got up to 73#s for a set of 3 thrusters. Have no idea what my old weight was.
I got 5 rounds + thrusters and a 100m run on the wod. Used 12# dbs and should have used at least 15s. The “thrusting” wasn’t the hard part.

I had no idea how hard doing 200m runs after thrusters was. The thrusters were the easy part of this workout.

I had a hard time running with my shoulders shot. I was able to get 8 rounds unbroken on thrusters with 40#, but it was taking everything I had to run the 200m without stopping. I could just not swing my arms. Are you doing the Crossfit Katy competition Hardy? I am thinking about doing it again. Just to see if I have gotten any worse or any better.

    5 rounds with 25# db’s
Wanted to go down to 20# on the 5th round but didn’t let myself.
I agree with Hardy-thrusters were the hard part!

225#x 3 for the thrusters, then 6 rds Rx’d on the WOD. Slow and steady wins this race…
