CFMC Competition – UPDATE

 In WOD

UPDATE: You need to be at CFMC between 8am and 8:30am on Saturday. The first heats will begin around 9am. The earlier you arrive the more time you will have to warm up. We expect this event to be over around 1:30pm. You are welcome to bring food, drinks, etc but we will not have a place to grill or heat up anything. After the competition we will have some games like tug of war, around the world, and maybe a few others. If this competition is anything like last time you can probably expect some flip cup also! If you have any questions please email us, call us, or post it in the comments section.

On Saturday September 24 CrossFit Mid-County is hosting a competition. This event will be open to anyone in the golden triangle area. The cost is free for CFMC, CFB, and CFB BootCamp members, for all others the event will be $25. There will be a standard and scaled division for men and women with 25 spots in each division.

Are we going to have mirrors installed so we can do the bicep curls properly?

Love me some tricep extensions. I mean it’s the only proper way to show off the tats. And I’ll spot you Chris on your calf raises, but only if we wear gold chains while we do curls.

Please keep the mirrors AWAY from the goblet squat area.

Sheree are you doing this?? If you are I may do it with you…Neal is it going to be similar to the last competition at Beaumont where Jason and I would not be going at the same time? (because of Bella)??

Oh, Serennah, now you’ve got me really thinking about it. Having a buddy makes it seem a little less scary!

read this earlier in a CrossFit Journal

“Forging elite fitness and not testing its mettle on the field of sport is like building a 1,000 horsepower racecar and never taking it out of the driveway. Or it’s like making Megan Fox fall madly in love with you and then taking a vow of chastity”

so no one has a reason for not entering this competition, just saying

Amber i’m going to do standard! Not sure how me and the 20″ box jumps will get along though 🙁 i absolutely refuse to do scaled though. I wouldn’t feel right doing the scaled weights. They are extremely lighter than any of the weights i do in everyday WODS! Sure i would finish in the top contenders but would i really feel like a winner by doing that easy weight!!! Would rather tough it through the 20″box jumps. & finish dead last. At least then i will feel like i accomplished something. The only way to improve & be the best is to go for it & get over the hurdles in my way. So i’m gonna suck it up & stop whining about the box jumps and do my best in the standard division 😉 GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!
